TOPIC: Administrator Main-Slave are the same

Re:Administrator Main-Slave are the same 14 Years, 11 Months ago Karma: 0
If I have all the multisites with the same directory path, do I still need to put in the master_link?

Thanks.

Also, I'm not sure if this is the same problem or an unrelated one.
All of the information seems to be appearing on all the websites.
For example, if I register on the ventura site, the user name is coming up on all the sites.
Is that normal?
I'll run a test, but I'm afraid that if I post information on one site it'll end up on all the other sites--which I don't want.

Thanks.

No .
This seems abnormal.
As you have currently a lot of errors in configuration on your websites, this is perhaps the results of all those errors.

If you have all the websites using the same directory path.
You are in the scenario where the Symbolic Link is forbidden as described in tutorial step 8.

Therefore, you don't need to use the Symbolic Link.

I recommend that you review the concept as described in tutorial step 0 and also the concept of Symbolic Link in tutorial step 4 to 7.

You can use the JMS delete website that not only will delete the files on the disk but will also propose you to cleanup the DB.

Well,

We have installed JMS and Symbolic links are active and working.

When creating a slave site without using the template, the back end admin is unique.
when we create a duplicate of the MASTER using a template. the front end has the new name, but when you go to the back end, it is the same for the master and the slave.

domain/joomla - MASTER
domain/joomla/la - Replication of master with template, Unique database, sym links, no share users. Template admin user set to -USERS-.
domain/joomla/la/administrator - same admin, same site name as MASTER domain/joomla/administrator

domain/joomla/us - slave of master, no template to create,
domain/joomla/us/administrator - unique backend

is the replication the only way to manage extensions to the child sites?
do the child sites get their own admin?!

I see refrence to front-end.. is this al related to a public front end to create replicated sites, to sell for isntance. is that what is meant by front-end?
