TOPIC: Installing template on Slave site
#1298
Installing template on Slave site 14 Years, 9 Months ago Karma: 0
I was having problem with slave templates. JMS setup is one database only for both slave n master....
slave sites have its own deloy dir defined to a folder and same goes for its template, media & images...
Installing template on slave dir is ok but when I applied/use it there no images....
What did I miss?

What do you mean by applied/use it there is no image.

When you want to create a slave site with its own image and media folder and template folder, it is recommended to use

deploy dir = {site_dir}
media folder = images
image folder = images/stories
template folder = {site_dir}/templates

See the value in the yellow light

Using {site_dir} for the template will point to multisites/{site_id}....
But I'm not using the multisite folder to deploy the slave site. I'm using other folder....

Up to you to provide the correct path.

I have give you a sample that is consistent.

Up to you to hardcode the value if you want.
On Unix, you have to provide the same root for the deploy dir and template dir.

On Windows, this may be more difficult because some extension assume that the templates directory is present in the root. In addition, the "templates" word must be present at the end of the path.
So you could try provide <your path>/templates
This also depends on the implementation of the templates itself.
On unix platform this is easier because you can keep the same directory structure than the one used by Joomla when using the deploy dir to make the difference.

I already defined the template path ('using absolute root dir to the slave site template folder') be still ain't working..
the index file of the slave site is still pointing to /templates/<templatename>/css/template.css

Should the domain/subdomain be mapped to the deploy folder of the slave site?
Currently it is mapped to master folder like it is said.....

YES.

As you can see in your reply "/templates/<templatename>/css/template.css" , it searches the template from the "root" (/templates) directory of your website.
So if you deploy your website into a specific directory, this solve the issue.
This is the reason why I have given to you
deploy dir = {site_dir}
template folder = {site_dir}/templates

Where both use {site_dir} as root directory
