TOPIC: sub-site configuration.php file edit
#2538
sub-site configuration.php file edit 14 Years, 6 Months ago Karma: 0
This might have been asked before but I could not find it.
I am using Multisite 1.2.8
Joomla 1.5.14

I am using symbolic links with subdirectories
The Joomla multisite master is using the FTP layer

After I create a sub site I go to global configuration in the sub site. And try to change a setting that is stored in sub-site/configuration.php. What happens when I save the changes, is it is writing the updates to the master/root sites configuration.php not the sub-site/configuration.php. Yet it loads and displays sub-site/configuration.php file.

One other thing that I noticed when creating a sub site configuration.php is owned by the system and not the same user that ownes the created directories and index files in the sub site.

I am using a work around to edit the sub-site/configuration.php directly at this point.

Am I missing something?

When using FTP Layer see the tutorial video 15 that show you how to setup the FTP Layer to create the slave site and what you have to do once you have created the slave site.

The key element is to provide the correct FTP Root directory in your FTP Layer of the slave site global configuration.
