The MySql version is 5.0.85 & PHP version 5.2.9

Sorry but I don't see any explaination in google and other search engine that explain the case of an error 1066 combined with "CREATE TABLE IF NOT EXISTS"

If you find an explaination that may help understand the reason, please tell us.
This is the first time that we are reported with this error message.

Perhaps somebody else would have an idea on the reason why MySQL produce this error message

OK, well I just ignored that problem and have just created a new clone of my slave site!

Now the new site is accessible via the url
www.mydomain.com/multisites/subdirectory
but I want it to be accessed via the url
www.mydomain.com/subdirectory
(if I use that I just get the mastersite and a 404)

How do I make that change?

You can also create an alias in JMS that will create a symbolic link on the deployed directory

Alias = {root}/{site_id}
