Totally understand!!! No worries. JMS is the greatest thing since sliced bread.

I was just letting you know I would commit per your previous post.

It would be really great if you or lexxy2000 can provide everyone the patch/hack on this forum for the time being just to get around this for now. Of course, the understanding is that it's unsupported.

Thanks!

ok i have completed the modules its not hacks persay its just writing module out side the box. What i did was create a module that would allow you to set the database name and password etc. from the parameters in the module backend. thus allowing you to connect to any joomla sites database to pull your content from.

I created two types one that will show images based of the joomla standard news flash module and another based on the joomla lastest news module. I spent a few days researching how i could make this user friendly so you would not have to hack any joomla code and please to say hey it done i want to test it out for a few more days i will post a demo and download link in the next couple of day i need to set up a site first as i will most likely submit it to joomla.org extentions for downloads.

Maybe make it a donation ware not sure yet if i charge for it i can spend the time learning 1.6 joomla to upgrade it. If i give it away then its come as is. With no time for support or upgrades.

Lexxy200, it seemsn that Joomla 1.6 is (or will be) totally different.
They think merge several module in a single module and rewrite everything.
This is one of the reason why I don't want to write module twice.

for you as a business they is understandable but for me this is need at this point in time so i had to do it. Also they are always going to change things if we worry about that we will never develop anything.

hi lexxy2000, I was wondering if your modules are available on joomla.org extentions?
