TOPIC: Trying to understand

FORWARD or REDIRECT can not be used because this modify the URL.
As you are using HostGator, I suppose that you have cPanel.
You have to use a "AddOn" domain in cPanel and specify the "document root" associated to the domain.
See the same application with subdomain - video CP-04

I am lost...I tried to create an add-on domain in cpanel...using the name of the slave site as the new domain name and it said that it wasn't a valid domain...I don't know what to do next and I have to figure out if this is going to work for my company by Friday. I really need some help with the creation of the slave site.

I don't know which value you enter in the cPanel but you have to provide a domain name like jms2win.com

A domain is NOT a JMS site id.

Refer to the cPanel help.

If you want that we configure your environment, we also have a billable support that can be ordered at www.jms2win.com/download?page=shop.produ...35&category_id=1

I am trying this again from the beginning. I already have the master site it is:

www.isurfwky.net/hosted/iSurfHopkinsCo.

I have a website known as :

www.isurfwky.net/hostedhendo/iSurfHenderson that currently exists. I want to make that a slave site

what are my next steps to make that happen...I have viewed the videos but still confused.

Read the forum and you will see that move an existing website is a manual task.
In summary, you have to install all the extensions required by your slave site into the master.
After create a fake "slave" sites where you will copy the current configuration.php file where you will modify manuall some parameters.
You will also have to copy all the images, media and other that are specific to your slave site.

As you can understand, move an existings website is moreless redo it with just the possibility to re-use the DB.

When I create the fake "slave site", do I follow the directions for creating a slave site to a specific directory? In this post you state to copy the current configuration.php...,my question, do I copy the current config of the slave site or the master site? I don't want to appear so dumb, but a lot of the joomla stuff is new to me. I appreciate your help.
