TOPIC: Multisites Content Modules
#6712
Re:Multisites Content Modules 13 Years, 2 Months ago Karma: 0
I'm running into the same issue. The only module that is coming up with "JFile::read: Unable to open file: 'JPATH_COMPONENT_ORIGINAL/helpers/route.php'" is the (mod_multisiteslatestnews) and the (mod_multisitesnewsflash). I disabled other modules and plug-ins to see if there was any conflict and nothing seams to point to why I'm still getting that JFile error. Even with the debug system enabled I still didn't see anything that was pulling the route.php file.

I'm running Joomla 1.5.22 with
Joomla Multi Sites version: 1.2.49 (Latest available: 1.2.49)
Patches definition version: 1.2.55 (Latest available: 1.2.55)

I "Purged the converted files" in the com_multisitescontent with no changes.

Not sure where else to look. Thanks for your help in this matter.

I am not able to reproduce it.
Show me that on the front-end does not help.

As I have already mentioned, try to add a debug trace in the Joomla code to identifying from where it is called when the error arise.

Can you provide a detailled description of the "back-end" setup.
Which parameters that you put in the config of the module;
Do you use also the article sharing or not ?
DO you have the SEF enable or not ?
If yes, do you use a specific SEF extensions, ?
....

If you want that we debug it on your environment, this is possible with our billable support that you can order at

He is the answer to your questions that I can answer as of now:

"As I have already mentioned, try to add a debug trace in the Joomla code to identifying from where it is called when the error arise." <---Do you have a sample or a script I can use to do this? Can you supply how to do this?

"Can you provide a detailed description of the "back-end" setup."
<---What part do you want to know the Joomla System or the MultiSites System?

"Which parameters that you put in the config of the module;" <---
Module Parameters:
sites (< Master Site >)
Count (5)
Order (Recently Added)
Authors (Anyone)
Front Page Items (Show) Selected
Section ID (1) News Section in the Joomla System. It's pulling the correct new items
Category ID ( )
Module Class Suffix (-news)
Type of link (Use Local Links using the Multisites Content...)

Advanced Parameters:
Caching (Use Global)
Cache Time (900)

"Do you use also the article sharing or not ?" <---Yes

"DO you have the SEF enable or not ?" <---Yes

"If yes, do you use a specific SEF extensions, ?" <---I use the one that came with the Joomla System.

No I don't have video for this module.

Now that you provided more info concerning the setup, did you also tried when disabling the SEF ?
If yes, does it works when SEF is disabled ?

When SEF is enabled, did you tried when using full URL instaed of using the URL with the "Article Sharing" ? Which is the result with the case Full URL and the "Article Sharing" ?

The objective is to find the combinaison of parameters that could better understand in which condition you get this error.

So try the combinaison
SEF (On) / Full URL
SEF (Off) / Full URL
SEF (On) / Article Sharing
SEF (Off) / Article Sharing

Here is what I was able to get from your tests:

"When SEF is enabled, did you tried when using full URL instaed of using the URL with the "Article Sharing" ? Which is the result with the case Full URL and the "Article Sharing" ?" <---I changed the
Module Parameters for the:
Master Domain:
[Type of link to: (Redirect to other side using full URL)]
[Master Domain URL: www.masterdomain.com]
With SEF enabled and disabled (Works fine, no errors)

Slave Domain:
Changed Module Parameters:

---With SEF disabled---
1. [Type of link to: (Redirect to other side using full URL)]
[Master Domain URL: www.slavedomain.com]
(List of News show, no JFile error but, links give 404 error when clicked)

2. [Type of link to: (Redirect to other side using full URL)]
[Master Domain URL: www.masterdomain.com]
(List of News show, no JFile error but, goes to Master site instead of staying on Slave site, figured it would do that with this setting. We need it to stay on the Slave domain)

3. [Type of link to: (Use Local Links using the Multisites Content...)]
[Master Domain URL: www.masterdomain.com]
(Works but still have JFile error, the links clicked work as expected)

4. [Type of link to: (Use Local Links using the Multisites Content...)]
[Master Domain URL: www.slavedomain.com]
(Works but still have JFile error, the links clicked work as expected)

---With SEF enabled---
1. [Type of link to: (Use Local Links using the Multisites Content...)]
[Master Domain URL: www.slavedomain.com]
(List of News show, no JFile error but, get "404" error when I click on the news link)

2. [Type of link to: (Use Local Links using the Multisites Content...)]
[Master Domain URL: www.masterdomain.com]
(List of News show, JFile error shows, get "500 - View not found" error when I click on the news link)

3. [Type of link to: (Redirect to other side using full URL)]
[Master Domain URL: www.slavedomain.com]
(List of News show, JFile error shows, get "500 - View not found" error when I click on the news link)

4. [Type of link to: (Redirect to other side using full URL)]
[Master Domain URL: www.masterdomain.com]
(List of News show, JFile error shows, get "500 - View not found" error when I click on the news link)

I did notice that on the Slave site the links to the news articles look like this:
(slavedomain.com/component/multisitescontent/2-article-title?site_id=:master_db:)
compared to the Master site (masterdomain.com//news/2-article-title)

Not sure if this will help.

I have released a new "Article Sharing" version 1.0.13 that I think should solve the issue.

See the "get latest version" procedure in the FAQ to get the latest version.
