Multisite Menu Item is a component that creates a bridge between menu item of two websites.
With “Multi Sites Menu Item”, you can for example creates menu items in a corporate website that is associated to a menu item of a another website. This allow redirecting the user to the corresponding sub-site like if the user has clicked on this specific sub-site menu item.
The referenced menu item can be modified without affecting the “Multi Sites Menu Item” entry as this component retreive each time the current menu item definition of the target website.
In fact the "Multi Sites Menu Item", retreive the menu item definition present in the target website before redirecting the user to this website using the first domain name defined in the JMS site definition and corresponding to the target site ID.
The new version 1.1.x is now compatible with both Joomla 1.5, 1.6, 1.7, 2.5, 3.0, 3.1, 3.2, 3.3, 3.4, 3.5, 3.6, 3.7, 3.8 and 3.9 versions
This version 1.2.x is also able to use the language code of the current site to search for the appropriate JMS 1.3.66+ domains corresponding to the language domain variant.
In other words, if you want a website in a language "fr" and that in JMS you have defined several synonym of domains of a give site id (ie. domain-en.com(en), domain-fr.com(fr), ....) then the menu item is able to select the domain idenified by (fr)
