patch error, and question about upgrade 14 Years, 6 Months ago Karma: 0
I'm currently showing this patch error: not sure what to do

libraries/joomla/document/html/html.php
Not OK

* The slave site specific "params_[id].ini" file reading is not present

Actions:

* Replace 3 lines by to allow using a specific "params_[id].ini" when rendering concern a slave site

secondly, I'm trying to figure out how to upgrade JMS. I have version 1.2.0, and have downloaded 1.2.11. Do I just install this via joomla installer? or overwrite files?

YES you can install JMS over the current one.
You don't need to uninstall it.
The only advise is just to uninstall the JMS patches before the update and mainly when you also update joomla or extensions.

The message concerning the "html" params files means that the patch that allow to have a specific "themes" parameters (or tempalte parameter) is not installed.
If you do not install the patch, this mean that all the websites will use the same themes configuration that is not the result expected.
So you have to install the patch.

As you have downloaded the latest JMS, start to install it because you will have plenty of other patches that will have to be installed. (Jump from 1.2.0 to 1.2.11).

JMS installation is design to work both as fresh install and as update.
So you can install it over the current one as explained in my previous post.

Once you ahve installed the new JMS, you can re-install the patches.

I tried uninstalling the patches in the master site before reinstalling the upgrade. that seemed to break the main db prefix. I had to manually fix this in the config file, but after that, installation went smoothly.

are you sure you should remove all patches before trying to install?

YES this is advised to un-install the patches.
This is very important when you update joomla itself.

In your case, if you had changed the master table prefix after that installed the JMS patches, this is normal that you retreive the original configuration files that was backup before installing the patches.

This explain why you had to redo the db prefix update manually.

All the backup are saved in the administrator/components/com_multisites/backupXXXX direcrtory.
You will retreive also the original configuration.php file of your master website.
