TOPIC: Parse SOBI content
#2994
Parse SOBI content 14 Years, 4 Months ago Karma: 1
With JMS2WIN, are you able to parse out SOBI Directory content to particular slave sites such that:

Master Site = SOBI Directory A + DIrectory B
Slave Site 1 = SOBI Directory A
Slave Site 2 = SOBI Directory B

Thank you.

Your question is not clear.
What do you mean by parse directory.

JMS parse URL.
Up to you to define the domain name in the slave site definition.

Therefore you can have
Master Site = www.domainA.com and www.domainB.com

OR
Slave Site 1 = www.domainA.com
Slave Site 2 = www.domainB.com

Becarefull that you can NOT have twice the same domain definition amoung all the slave site defined in JMS.
Therefore you can NOT have simultanously the define of several slave containing exactly the same domain.

Slave 1 + 2 = www.domainA.com and www.domainB.com
AND
Slave Site 1 = www.domainA.com
Slave Site 2 = www.domainB.com

Becarefull also that the definition of a master website is any domain that is NOT defined as a slave site.
Therefore as soon as you want to have a master website with domain = www.domainA.com and www.domainB.com you can NOT use those domain in the slave site definition (otherwise they become slave and no more a master).

Thank you, let's see if I can clarify here...

MasterSite = domain.com = SOBI Directory Content A + B
- SlaveSite1 = domain1.com = SOBI Directory Content A [only]
- SlaveSite2 = domain2.com = SOBI Directory Content B [only]

I am trying to set up one master site where I update all the directory data from an external crm, but have the content shared to specific domains.

This is still not clear.
When you say a directory, give the directory path to illustrate your question.

Give a detailled scenario on what you expect.
Directory word is NOT clear.
A directory contain files and folders.
How do you want to merge directory of two differents websites when they have symbolic links.

This is NOT clear.

Give REAL path of the physical directory on your disk that you would like to see merged and explain how you see this merge of directory.

Give picture or video to illustrate your problem.

I don't see how you can merge the directory
/home/account/slave1/components/com_sobi2/????
with
/home/account/slave2/components/com_sobi2/????

As soon as you share the same files and folders on the disk, this mean that
/home/account/slave1/components -> refers to the master /home/account/master/components
/home/account/slave2/components -> refers to the master /home/account/master/components

Hi Edwin,

Sorry for delay... we finally have JMS2WIN up and running between Master and Slave Sites.

Question is:

As I can share CONTENT between MASTER / SLAVE ...

Can I do the same and share a specific SOBI CATEGORY DATA from MASTER to SLAVE?

Or better yet, is SOBI CATEGORY DATA shareable from MASTER to SLAVE? like CONTENT SECTION or CONTENT CATEGORY?

Again, the basic question is whether it is possible to share specific parts of SOBI DATA from master sites to particular slave sites? If so, how?

Thanks,

Max

You can share SOBI2 but you can not share part of it.
The concept of sharing consists in sharing the MySQL table between the website.
Therefore this share all the records (their data).
It is not possible to select which record you want to share between website as this concept us the MySQL facility for the sharing and does not consists in modifying the extension itself.

In addition if you want to share SOBI2, you also have to share the users.
See the definition that is displayed when you create a JMS templates / sharing panel.

See also the list of extension that can be shared.
www.jms2win.com/component/content/article/135

This list can also be displayed when you click on the "help" button in the JMS tools.

If you want to share articles, we have the "Article sharing for JMS" extension that you can find here.
