TOPIC: cant install components on fresh slave site

cant install components on fresh slave site 14 Years, 2 Months ago Karma: 0
I am confused about this. I have created a new, fresh install slave site that I wish to install some components on, then clone that as the master for a particular type of site.
However when I log in to its admin, and try and install components, I get the below message.

* This extension is not found in the master site.
* Please install it first in the master site before installing it into the slave site
* Install Component Error

Why does this occur? This site has no master site, its a fresh joomla install on a fresh DB? Do I have to install the component on the main installation where I have the JMS Component? Does that go for every component/module?

Please disregard, i found the answer searching, it does seem that I need to install the component on the main site first, even though it has nothing to do with the slave site. No dramas.

Exact.
You have to consider the master website like a library or a repository where all the extension must be installed prior to install them in a slave site.
