sharing users of a already developed site. 12 Years, 8 Months ago Karma: 0
Hi, my client bought the component so users can sign in in different sites.
I've a developed site in wich I've installed jms component. I want that that site be the master site. I've followed the video tutorial (share users from a fresh site tutorial.jms2win.com/jms12x/usersharing/index.html) but this in not the case, the video only explains how to share users from a fresh site.
If I don't read documentation bad, it says that what I want to do is possible. When I tried to build a site from the master DB, it copies only the required tables to develop a fresh site.
I need some advice here
Best regards
Fernando

Your question is not clear.
Do you want to share the users with the master website or from a slave site ?

If you want to share the users with the master, you can skip the step to create the fresh slave and directly go to the next step that explain how to create a JMS template rule that share the users with slave 1. In this template, select the master instead of select the slave 1. That all.

So create a JMS Template rule where
- select the template site = <master DB>
- Specify at least a new table prefix
- Go in the "sharing" tabs and select sharing the users.

I want to do both, replicate the master site and share the users

Is it possible to replicate master site and share users from different domains?, the example you gave, only share users from master site to subdomains

thanks a lot

Yes you can share the users between domains.
The only restriction in case of different domain is that you can not benefit of the single sign-in. In other words, the users will have to relogin.
