Site templates 12 Years, 7 Months ago Karma: 0
Hello, i have succesfully got jms to run for many sites but got an issue

the sites were configure with one template, so the subs inherited this template,

however on the main site i have one new template and wanted to propagate it to the subs.

To do so i went to joomla 1.7-> extensions manager -> Discover -> select the correcponding template -> install

so i can see the template is present in the backend.

But when using the template as default in front end i got this message "The template for this display is not available. Please contact a Site administrator."

After selecting the template set as the default template your problem is solved..

With JMS 1.2.65, we fixed the possibility to re-install a joomla template in a slave site.
So this is another solution to install a template into a slave site. (This is the solution used with Joomla 1.5)

Thanks for the reply, so i installed the update, do i need to manage the sites again and reinstall on the previous db? In Templates in jms should i special copy or ignore or copy? In slave site do i install the template there directly? Containing the same name as the original template? From what i see today in my ftp client the template folder is a shortcut of the master template folder.

I'm going a step forward in this so far

If you want to re-install a template from the slave site, you have to either setup the action with "copy" or "special copy" and use in the JMS Template common tabs the "template folder" = {deploy_dir}/templates like illustrated in the tutorial video 0.d slide 34

This will give you the possibility to go in the back-end extension manager of the slave site and install the "joomla template" in the slave site.
