Article sharing plugin and search plugin 12 Years, 4 Months ago Karma: 0
Hello,

About this plugin:
www.jms2win.com/en/joomla-multisite?page...47&category_id=1

While you say :
This extension does NOT allow to edit articles or categories from the front-end.
When you want to edit the articles, ... you have to go in the website where it was created and use the starndard Joomla tool to edit them.

But can you edit from the front slave site the articles ?
Also can it be edited with a CCK on front end ? (or does it calls a routine from your plugin on com_content ? )
It seems the plugin is deployed mainly on the MASTER site, so I guess this is possible ?

The sharing is decided from the master site right ?

I also need to know if sharing tables categories would be possible with this system ? (I guess not...)
So like this, sharing articles from a category from a slave site could populate a master category(with the same name/id) for the master website.
So each slave site would have their proper articles, and the master would list all articles, within the same category structure...

Also does the search plugin :
www.jms2win.com/en/joomla-multisite?page...40&category_id=1

Is needed to search on the master site for all slaves site ?

Thanks !
Thanks !

Is it possible to edit on front page the articles, or any component call, from the SLAVES sites ? (and not only in his proper admin)

The article can only be edited in the website where they are physically present.

The standard Joomla articles does not contain any CCK.
The article sharing component is not a plugin and read directly the DB of the website where physically the article is created.

If you are using a CCK extension, see the list of extension to check if this is an extension that can be shared. In general, they can not be shared.
www.jms2win.com/en/list-of-extensions?vi...id=269&Itemid=53

Concerning the "Article Sharing", the sharing is decided in each website where you want to display the article.

Concerning the sharing of the extension content this is decided when you create the slave site. (Not necessarily from the master). In some case, website can be created from a slave site. Case of website creation from the front-end.

No the categories are not shared.

The "Multisites Search Plugin" work like the article sharing.
It read the article directly into the other DBs and that based on the list of slave sites that are selected in the plugin back-end configuration.
This is you that decide from which slave site (or master) that you want to be searched.

Thanks for your answers !
Too bad for Seblod that I may use, but not in a shared manner...In the mean time, it's maybe better not to have all models implemented and not used on all slave sites...

The category structure not being shared is far more problematic for my e-commerce project.
But it seems to be okay for some other use.
