Title and Description of Slave Sites uncorrect 12 Years ago Karma: 0
Hi again Edwin,

Why do the slave sites take the site title and description from the master?

I'm able to set up these fields in the global configuration of the slave sites but these are ignored when displaying the slave sites at the front end.

Have I done something wrong? How can it be fixed?

Thanks

Walter

First you have to verify that you are correctly calling the slave site.
A wrong title can be the symptom that you didn't have declared the slave site correctly and that you are connected on the master instead of the slave.

If you are on the correct slave that you can verify when you login as admin and verify in the "global configuration" that you are connected on correct DB and correct table prefix then you can setup the site title in the global configuration.

Depending on the Joomla template that you are using and the setup of the menu, it is possible that you have overwritten the default Site Tittle present in the "global configuration" with another value. Verify the advanced parameters of the menu. Sometime, a title is present.

Hello Edwing,

Thank you for your answer.

First: where i said master I meant to say fresh slave. My multisite configuration is:
Master
Fresh Slave: www.auto-art.es
Salve 1 of fresh slave: www.todo-stencil.com
Slave 2 of fresh slave: www.todo-maquillaje.com

1) I've checked the global configuration on slave sites and find everything correct: conected to right db and tables prefix

2) I have verified that there is no title on the joomla template that overwrites the default site title. The slave site title comes from the DB, it takes the title of the fresh slave site (www.auto-art.es) instead of the title of the slave site itself.

Master administration pic:

Slave site 1:

Slave site 2:

For me, once verified, set up seems to be correct and don't know where else to look for an error.

Please help

regards

For me, there is no error.
We just don't know where the information is coming from.

When I try login in the back-end of each website, the title is correct.
This show me that the slave site is correctly detected as the correct "configuration.php" file is read.

So check to change of front-end template to see if this is something computed by the template.

The title is sometime coming for the menu item / advanced parameters.

So you have to search in the article configuration, menu configuration, template configuration, .....
