TOPIC: mapping a subdirectory not working

mapping a subdirectory not working 12 Years ago Karma: 0
Hi there,

I have a problem that appears on Joomla 2.5.4. I read the complete manual and watched the tutorial video #9 that is related to this topic. The mapping to the subdirectory does not work. I installed the latest multisites component V1.2.84. This is my server environment ->phpinfo.

That I have done to create my slave:
1. create a template

basic template settings

folders and files

sharing

2. create a slave based on the template

3. slave saved
JMS shows that www.jingjang.net/test is mapped to {multisites}/test but it seems not to work.

When I open www.jingjang.net/test I got the 404.
What happened? I tried the same with Joomla 1.5.26 and it works. Is that another compatibility issue with Joomla 2.5.x ? Any advice?

The problem is that you let the field "deploy folder" empty and that is inconsistent with the domain name that you provided.

You specified in the domain {site_url}/{site_id}
then you need to deploy the website in the {root}/{site_id}

I did as you wrote, but now I have two folders with my {site_id}

#1 in {multisites}/test
#2 in {root}/test

Do I need both?

YES
The multisites directory is the place where JMS save the slave site definition

The other one is the website that you deployed.
