I've been rolling this reply around in my head for the last week or so, and I don't think it answers my question.

I don't need the Joomla Categories, or the Jevents categories shared at all.

My basic question is this:

If I create a slave site with Jevents, can I add or delete a category just from that slave site?

If you create totaly independent JEvent (not shared Jevent) the you can do it.
If you share the JEvent, I have explained that JEvent use the Joomla categories to store it JEvent categories. In this case you can have problem to guarantee the consistency.

So all dependents if you shared or not the JEvents.
