As i understand multisite content module is not yet for joomla 1.7, could this be worked around by maybe creating a wrapper showing module from multisite?

NO.
Create such extension for joomla 1.7 need to be redeveloped from scratch as the Joomla datamodel is not compatible between joomla 1.5 and 1.7.
In addition, Joomla has created several individual module and seems again would like changing that for joomla 1.8.
