TOPIC: JMS and Xmap
#8770
JMS and Xmap 12 Years, 4 Months ago Karma: 0
Hi..
I just set up a slave-site by using templates.
The template has Xmap installed, and I'd like this to be avaliable on the slave-site as well.
Problem is that when I create a new slave site based on the template, the slave-site's Component menu doesn't show the normal Xmap link/icon but the text "comxmaptitle". When clicking that menu point Joomla reports "404 - An error has occurred. Component not found".
According to JMS list of supported extensions Xmap should be supported.
www.jms2win.com/en/list-of-extensions?vi...id=269&Itemid=53

I'v tried to "Propagate to children" the component, but the same thing is happening.

Joomla 1.7.3
Version 1.2.69 (Latest available: 1.2.69)
Patches definition Version 1.2.73 (Latest available: 1.2.73)

Anyone got an idea how to fix this?

Try to re-install XMap directly from the slave site.
Which version of XMap do you use ?

I'm using Xmap 2.2

When trying to install Xmap 2.2 on the slave site I get the following error message :
"This extension is not found in the master site.
Please install it first in the master site before installing it into the slave site
Error installing package"
Even if its installed on the "template site".

It was not installed on the "master site" (where I have multisites installed), so I tried installing Xmap there. Even though I can't see why this should be nessecary (This is what "template sites" are for, right?).
But still I get the same error message when trying to install Xmap on the slave site.
The discover function does not provide anything either.

Based on your description, it seems that you didn't installed the XMap on the master.

So start to install it on the master with success.

After that you can effectivelly try using the JMS tool menu to install in the slave site
or try re-installing the XMap in the slave site
or try using the Joomla "discover" menu.
