TOPIC: Slave Site fails to install templates

Slave Site fails to install templates 12 Years, 3 Months ago Karma: 0
I started by having trouble with an 1.7 to 2.5 upgrade then turned to a fresh 2.5 install.

After the fresh install and installing the latest JMS Multisite as well as a few other Mods that would be used I created the templates. The Templates were created just as I had them setup in the 1.7 install. Once the templates were built I created my first slave site.

The installation of the slave site had no issues and after going though the joomla config screens the site was running.

I then logged into the Administration side and went to Extensions -> Extension Manager browsed to the Template file and clicked Upload & Install. After the file is uploaded I end up with a blank page.

I have read on several posts that this is a fatal error in PHP but I can not fine any errors in the error_log files.

I thought it might be the template file so I proceeded to install the same template into the master site with no problems. I only have the problem on the slave site.

Added Note: The Template directory is a Special Copy type in Template.

I am having the exact same problem. I am able to install the template on the master JMS multisite, but when I try and install the template on the slave site, I get a blank white screen. I did a fresh install of 2.5. I did not have this issue with 1.7

Try to use the Joomla "discover" function present in the "extension manager".
Perhaps this will allow re-installing the joomla template in the slave site.

Template was not found in discovery. This would also not fix having a slave admin install a custom template.

So refer the issue to the author of the template.
They probably not have defined the template manifest file correctly as joomla itself is not able to process it.

If the template works fine on the MASTER site how can it be the template. I created this template with the latest version of Artisteer.

Is there no one that can help with this problem? It has been just over 30 days since I purchased this product and the latest version claims to be 2.5 compatible but I have yet been able to get it to function properly or get support that does not try to deflect the issue to something else.

I am now getting frustrated with JMS Multisite and wondering if it was worth the $69 I payed for it.
