After studying your jms multisite and almost deciding to buy it, went do extensions.joomla.org to read comments and found that:

I don't know.
I have submitted a ticket on joomla to ask them more detail and they didn't replied yet.

They just mentioned "call home" that exists for the begining of this extension and that is used for example to check version, get patches update, registration, ...

Joomla themself perform "call home" and we don't know which one cause them an issue now.
