"This extension is not found in the master site." 14 Years, 12 Months ago Karma: 0
hi

I'm using JMS 1.1.18 for a website with various subsites. I installed various components, it always worked as it should.

Now I try to install Content Templater 0.4.4 (http://www.nonumber.nl/contenttemplater). On the master site this component is installed properly. But when I try it to install the same component on the subsites I receive the error:

This extension is not found in the master site.

How can I convince JMS that the same component is already installed on the master site?

Thanks for your help!

Greetings
k.

I am able to reproduce the behavior described.

I see that in this extension, there are several manifest files present in the zip file and that seems to be the reason why JMS is not able to re-install the extensions on a slave site.

This extension use has a specific procedure to install the extension.
In fact this extension install a small "nonumber-installer" component that is used to install the real Content Templater.
The problem is that this small "nonumber-installer" un-install itself once the installation is completed.

When you try to install this extension from a slave site, JMS search for the component "nonumber-installer" that does not exists as it has deleted itself.

There is a workarround to allow JMS know that the extension exists.
You have to unzip the extension in the directory /administrator/components/com_nonumber-installer
When this is done, you can install the extension.
Remark: The com_nonumber-installer directory will be automatically removed by the Content templater installation procedure .

Have you found a workaround for NoNumber BetterPreview?

The autor himself provide an alternate procedure.
As you can see in their product description www.nonumber.nl/betterpreview?tab=Download
Their installation is still experimental and may have problems.
This is the reason why they provide a manual procedure that you can find in the INSTALL.txt of their product.

I have found another workarround procedure to allow JMS know that the extension exists..
This one has been tested with BetterPreview version 1.3.0
You have to unzip the extension in the directory /administrator/components/com_nonumber-installer-UNINSTALLME
Becarefull that on Unix platform, the directory name is case sensitive.
When this is done, you can install the extension.
Remark: The com_nonumber-installer-UNINSTALLME directory will be automatically removed by the BetterPreview installation procedure .

Are 2 plugins, system plugin & editor button plugin
and in master site they are installed, but on slave site it tells me
"This extension is not found in the master site"

What can i do in this case?
