You can use the JMS Template rules
replicMasterXXXX
where XXXX is Domain, Subdomain, Subdir, Multisites

replicMasterDomain when the new site is a domain
replicMasterSubdomain when this is a subdomain
replicMasterSubdir when this is a subdirectory of the master
replicMasterMultisites when this is a subdirectory of /multisites
